The Black Impact

The Black Impact was the cataclysm that first brought HollowLight into AshenReach.

Ancient fragments speak of a dying celestial being — the Starfall Leviathan — descending from the void while bleeding black radiance from its wounds. When the creature struck the world, the impact carved a vast crater and shattered the surrounding lands for leagues in every direction.

From that wound, HollowLight began to seep into the earth, spreading through unseen veins beneath AshenReach. Over time it surfaced in scattered places as HollowLight Wells — breaches where the black radiance rises again.

Travelers speak in hushed tones of a towering structure now standing somewhere within the depths of that ancient crater.

The Archive holds few reliable records of what was built there only that the wound in the world was never left unattended.
